The First Lady Of The United States Michelle Obama received a special compliment from a little girl named Anaya Brodie during the White House’s annual Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day event. The child told Mrs. Obama she looked too young to be 51 years old and touched by the comment, the mother of two invited her on stage for a big hug.
According to Anaya Brodie, the first lady looks too young to be 51. Earlier this week, the White House held its annual Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day event where the First Lady Of The United States Michelle Obama met and took questions from a large group of children.
As Mrs. Obama sat down with children of Executive Office employees, members of the Boys and Girls Club, and D.C. Child and Family Services, little Anaya Brodie asked the question that many people believe you should never ask a woman.
Holding a microphone, Brodie asked Obama: How old are you? Michelle Obama answered 51 with a sad look on her face. However, little Anaya, who knows how to make a person feel good, replied by:
“You’re too young for 51.”
Thrilled by the “too young” comment, the first lady asked the child to join her on stage and gave her a big hug to thank her. When Michelle Obama celebrated her 50th birthday, she was asked if she planned to use plastic surgery or Botox in the future to keep looking young. She replied by saying:
“Women should have the freedom to do whatever they need to do to feel good about themselves. Right now, I don’t imagine that I would go that route, but I’ve also learned to never say never.”
The first lady went on to add that she maintains her looks by eating right and exercising. She revealed in 2014:
“I don’t obsess about what I eat, but I do make sure that I’m eating vegetables and fruit. And as everyone knows, I do exercise.”
Back then, even President Obama believed that his wife was too young to be 50. Mr. Obama shared:
“Michelle is actually more beautiful now than when I met her. And I think she’s wiser.”
