Erica Faith Hagan found dead in her apartment in Chile. In a press release issued by Georgetown College, it was revealed that 22-year-old Erica Faith Hagan was found dead in the bathtub of her apartment on the campus of Colegio Bautista, in Temuco, Chile. Hagan was an English teacher at the private Baptist school. A globetrotter, Hagan kept a wonderful blog where she shared her experiences with hundreds of readers.
On Sunday, two parents in Kentucky received a devastating phone call, where they were told that their beloved daughter Erica Faith Hagan had been found dead.
Miss Hagan who was a psychology graduate from Georgetown College in Kentucky was an English teacher at the Colegio Bautista in Temuco, which is about 450 miles south of Santiago, Chile.
The young woman moved to Chile in July, days after getting her diploma. Officials from the private Baptist school issued a statement that revealed Erica Faith Hagan was found dead on Saturday:
“Miss Hagan, of Murray, Ky., was found, unresponsive, in her Chile apartment on the campus of Colegio Bautista, Temuco, Chile, on Saturday morning, according to Chilean authorities.Officials there are investigating her death as a possible homicide.”
Hagan was supposed return to America for the Christmas holidays, NewsOxy reported. According to Cristian Paredes, the local attorney, Erica Faith Hagan was found dead in the bathtub.
The marks on her head indicates that she received at least three blows with a blunt object. Paredes added that she may have been sexually assaulted.
The person or people who murdered the teaching assistant also tried to set the apartment on fire in order to cover evidence.
The 22-year-old did travel to Chile three years ago, before deciding to move there to become an educator.
On her blog Never Forget Always Travel, where she documented her trips all around the planet, Hagan described the Latin American country as a masterpiece, and talked about the food, the amazing landscapes and how she fell in love with the Andes.

Hagan’s aunt Charlene Martin told local media outlets that she was a strong Christian woman and added:
“She loved to travel, she loved to help people.She was teaching school children English. She was terribly happy.”
The officials at Georgetown College also issued a statement where they announced that there will be a counselor provided to those grieving and added:
The Georgetown College Office for Faith and Service will hold a memorial service in her honor in the next week or so, once arrangements can be completed with her family. The date, time and location will be announced.
Erica Faith Hagan’s family are planning to travel to Chile this week.
