Ellen and Portia deny fight reports in the strongest possible terms. Via their lawyer, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have denied that they bailed out of the Saving SPOT! animal charity fundraiser due to a lover’s quarrel.
Ellen and Portia denied a fight caused them to cancel an appearance at a fundraiser. In a new article, published in the New York Post, it was revealed that on Sunday, October 26th while Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were driving to the Saving SPOT! fundraiser at Tiato in Santa Monica, they had an epic fight.
According to the paper, Ellen and Portia had a screaming match about the divorce rumors and their decision not to have kids. The feud lead to DeGeneres and her wife driving back home.
The organizers of the event, first told the attendees that de Rossi and DeGeneres were running late. But at around 6:30 PM, the head of the charity told reporters that Ellen and Portia had bailed out. A source, who attended the fundraiser, told the publication:
“Ellen and Portia were supposed to be at the event at 5pm, but at 6:30pm, the media was still waiting for their arrival. Reporters were told they were on their way, until the head of the charity informed everyone at the end of the event that they weren’t going to make it due to ‘logistics.’”
Earlier today, via their attorney, Marty Singer, Ellen and Portia have denied that a fight prevented them from attending the charity event. According to Singer, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi never accepted to host, or attend the event. As to why Saving SPOT! shared invitations for the charity event, which said that de Rossi and DeGeneres were hosting, is a mystery.
The lawyer denied the Ellen and Portia fight story in the following statement:
“The story is a complete lie. My client told the organizer they never agreed nor planned to attend the event. There was no fight that caused them not to attend.”
A little digging revealed that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have close ties to the charity.
They are honorary chairs and they did attend the Saving SPOT! Second Annual Benefit held at the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills, California in October of 2013.
