Elisabeth Hasselbeck is slamming Rosie O’Donnell’s rumored return to ABC talk show “The View.” Hasselbeck who constantly fought with O’Donnell when they were both co-hosts in 2006-2007 thinks that the rehiring of the comedian would send the wrong signal.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck who was fired from “The View” in 2013 after a 10-year run and now works for Fox News’ morning “Fox & Friends” views on Rosie O’Donnell seem to be constantly evolving. After battling it out over the years, the women appeared cordial to each other during an appearance on “The View” reunion show in May when the former co-hosts paid homage to Barbara Walters who was leaving. The mother-of-three even posted a photo with Rosie on her Instagram page at the time.
When Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy were dropped from “The View” in late June, Hasselbeck even backed the idea of a Rosie O’Donnell’s return as co-host saying then that her colorful personality could bring new life to the program.
It appears that all of this was just a facade and the Conservative TV host is now letting her true feelings be known. Or, she might just feeding red meat to her audience and it’s all theater. The former “Survivor” contestant who is in vacation, phoned “Fox & Friends” co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade on Wednesday to discuss Rosie O’Donnell’s probable return to “The View.”
Elisabeth Hasselbeck trashed her former colleague and even put out some wild theories about how the comeback was made possible. Hasselbeck blasted O’Donnell for comparing American soldiers who were fighting in Iraq to terrorists when she was on “The View” and for dissing the television network that was employing her.
The “Fox & Friends” co-host said that she was surprised two moths ago while appearing on the show to see that Rosie O’Donnell had so much control and power on Barbara Walters’ last episode as a host. For her that it is more than enough to deduct that O’Donnell’s return had been planned for a very long time.
The proud mama and big supporter of the US military also predicts that things might get ugly if O’Donnell thinks that she will be boss of “The View” last remaining official host for next season Whoopi Goldberg.
According to Hasselbeck, you don’t want to mess with Goldberg who has a very solid and impressive résumé.
