Don Lemon and conservative commentator Kurt Schlichter will certainly not be spending Christmas together. Lemon was forced to cut off Schlichter’s interview short after he decided to talk about Bill and Hillary Clinton’s controversial past.
After being angered by a guest, Don Lemon did what any television host would do – he ended the interview. On Tuesday, Lemon invited Kurt Schlichter on his program, CNN Tonight, to talk about the recent strange comments that GOP front-runner Donald Trump made about Hillary Clinton.
Trump supporter and anti-immigration conservative Terra Compton Grant was also a guest. At a campaign stop, Trump used the slang “schlonged,” which means long penis to talk about Mrs. Clinton’s loss to Barack Obama in 2008. The real estate mogul also claimed that Clinton went to do something “disgusting” in the restroom during last weekend’s Democratic Party debate. Trump said at the rally:
“I know where she went, it’s disgusting, I don’t want to talk about it. No, it’s too disgusting. Don’t say it, it’s disgusting, let’s not talk, we want to be very, very straight up.”
Grant, who was not really interested in talking about Donald Trump’s vulgar remarks, explained:
“I’m still confused as to a) why it was brought up, why it was discussed at a rally. But I’m even more confused as to why we’re still talking about it. It’s definitely gone to the toilet.”
Lemon stated that it was not appropriate and added:
“I think we’re discussing the comment, and whether it’s appropriate for someone who is running for leader of the free world to make comments about a woman going to the restroom.”
Schlichter, a writer for Breitbart News Network and well-known stand-up comedian, had zero interest in talking about Trump’s statement instead he wanted to focus on former President Bill Clinton‘s sex life, Monica Lewinsky, and Mrs Clinton’s decision to stand by her husband. The former lawyer said:
“Don, it’s going to take a lot more for me to get upset at a woman who enabled a guy who turned the Oval Office into a frat house and his intern into a humidor.You know, I just don’t care. I so don’t care. I would need Stephen Hawking to find the theoretical limit of how little I care about Donald Trump’s silly jokes.”
Schlichter went on to add:
“I just think it’s silly. Look, he’s running against Hillary Clinton. He’s running against a sexual harasser and abuser’s enabler. I don’t know why we’re not talking about that.”
Lemon replied by:
“Because it has nothing to do with what happened.”
However, the conversation continued to go down the toilet, and Lemon, who had enough said:
“This is the lowest of the low and it has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. Can we cut it off? Can we cut if off please? Thank you. We’re done.”
Schlichter, who was unhappy with Don Lemon’s reaction, took to Twitter to slam him.
