Graig Finn’s leg had to be amputated after being set on fire by his pals during an all-day drinking session. Mr Graig Finn suffered third-degree burns to his legs and his back during the incident and was in a coma for several weeks. After losing his left leg, doctors fear that they may have to remove the right one in the future.
Graig Finn’s leg was amputated after a horrible incident, according to The Inquisitr. In January of 2014, a British man by the name of Graig Finn, had a rather unique party known as an all-day drinking session with his pals at his home.
Finn and his friends had cooked up the event to become intoxicated by heavy consumption of alcohol in celebration of his new apartment in Seaham, County Durham. During the binge-drinking session, Graig Finn claimed that he fell asleep on his sofa.
The heavily intoxicated 25-year-old man eventually moved to a bathroom on the second floor to catch more zs. Finn’s pals, who had consumed a great amount of alcoholic beverages, took the cruel decision to light him on fire.
The young man does not remember much of the tragedy, other than waking up at the Newcastle’s Royal Infirmary, clinging to life. Graig Finn’s body was severely burned and doctors were forced to reconstruct his right ankle fearing that it had to be amputated along with his leg.
Finn’s condition was so bad that he slipped into a coma for one month, during which his lungs were full of fluid. Talking to local media, the reformed partier said that his life has changed forever and added:
“I don’t think what happened has hit me yet to be honest. I just have to get on with my life. I’m still young and I can’t let it get the better of me. This has changed my life forever.”
Craig’s mother, Diane Barker, 51, explained that she almost lost her son. Barker shared:
“He was in a coma for the whole of February. We nearly lost him twice during that time because his lungs were full of fluid. There was a concern that they might lose his right leg too.”
Two males, ages 24 and 32, who attempted to burn Finn alive, have been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, arson with intent to endanger life, causing grievous bodily harm without intent and arson reckless as to whether life was endangered.
The pair will appear in court in April 1st.
