Cop parents of 18-year-old daughter Lisa Kepler, shoot and kill her new boyfriend Jeremy Lake and now she wants them to “rot” in prison for a very long time. This family tragedy has shaken the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma at its core.
On Tuesday night, Lisa Kepler, 18, was walking home with her 19-year-old boyfriend Jeremy Lake when they saw a black SUV stop nearby.
According to the young woman, her father Shannon Kepler, 54, came out of the vehicle and started shouting at her.
The teen daughter tried to walk away from the argument, while her new beau attempted to introduce himself. This did not help the situation, the shouting grew louder and the dad ended up shooting Lake.
The father who has been with the Tulsa Police Department for over 24 years, also shot at his daughter three times before she managed to hide in a bush.
Mr Kepler’s wife Gina was sitting in the passenger’s seat of the SUV, she also worked as a cop for 24 years.
After shooting Lake three times, the police officer fled the scene of the crime.
Lisa who is one of the Keplers three adopted children spoke to the media after the brutal murder of her boyfriend and said:
“I really hope they rot in prison for a very long time.”
The teenager went on to explain that she is the one who reported her parents to the authorities.
While it is not clear why the clan was fighting the night of the killing, it has been revealed that the parents kicked out their adopted daughter out the family home one week ago and dropped her in front of the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless.
According to people close to the case, the parents did not approve of the way she was living her life.
The young woman met Jeremy at the homeless center and he offered her to move in with him at his aunt’s home.
Lisa who was living with Jeremy since being thrown out added that her dad’s actions were senseless, because he never met Lake prior to the incident.
The veterans of the Tulsa Police Department accompanied by their lawyer Richard O’Carroll have turned themselves in and are being held without bail.
Shannon Kepler was arrested on a complaint of first-degree murder and his wife Gina on a complaint of accessory to murder after the fact.
O’Carroll says that his clients have a very viable defense.
So…they kicked her out and then decide that her life is still their business? Especially since she’s a legal adult? Wow. And now, they’ve got murder on their racket on top of that. Yeah, if they disillusioned themselves into thinking they were helping her and that she’d forgive them, they are sadly mistaken.
