Chevy Chase’s weight is making headlines. This week, Chevy Chase appeared on Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Celebration where many of his fans were surprised at his weight gain and by the fact that he had difficulty talking during a very brief interview. Medical experts are saying to stop fat-shaming Chevy Chase because they believe that he is dealing with some serious health issues.
A Chevy Chase weight gain video has shocked many, but it is not a reason to call him fat and old. On Sunday, National Lampoon’s Vacation star Chevy Chase made a brief appearance on Saturday Night Live‘s 40th Anniversary celebration, which took place at the Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
Chevy Chase rarely makes public appearances since leaving his fan-favorite series Community almost three years ago. The 71-year-old comedian, who looked very elegant in a black suit, was stopped by Carson Daly on the red carpet for a short interview.
During the little chit-chat, Chevy Chase said that it was hard to leave SNL after just one season, but added that he had to leave for personal reasons. It is claimed that Chevy Chase left because his then-girlfriend, Jacqueline Carlin, did not want to move to New York.
Chase went on to explain that despite hosting the show at least 8 times, he missed being part of the cast. As he was talking, he pulled out a handkerchief and apologized for the heavy perspiration. Chase went on to joke about his sweating by saying that he had to run through a gauntlet. He joked:
“I’m sorry if I’m perspiring, but I just had to run through a gauntlet.”
The interview set social media on fire with the headline “Chevy Chase weight” trending constantly. Many insulted the legendary actor by saying that he was fat and said that he was lazy to let himself go like that. But several others defended Chase by saying that people need to stop being so critical of the star’s weight, he should be able to do whatever he wants.
Another commentator added that everyone ages differently and went on to wish him well. According to medical experts, there is a possibility that the sweating, weight gain and shortness of breath, might be related to health issues. Dr. Ashakan Ghavami, a plastic surgeon and professor at the David Geffen UCLA School of Medicine, stated that Chase’s bloated face could be due to Cushing syndrome, which occurs after someone uses steroids for a long time.
Rumor has it that Chase might be suffering from Alzheimer and might have a heart condition. The term “Chevy Chase weight” might be trending, but this is no laughing matter. What are your thoughts on Chevy Chase’s weight gain?
