Cassandra Jenner asked her distant father to be a better person and relative now that he has transitioned to a woman named Caitlyn Jenner. Caitlyn formerly known as Bruce Jenner graced the cover of Vanity Fair and inside the magazine his children – Burt, Cassandra aka Casey, Brandon and Brody – opened up about their damaged relationship with their dad and revealed their hopes of reconnecting with the new and improved Caitlyn Jenner.
Cassandra Jenner hopes her distant dad, who is now a woman, will be a better relative and friend to her and the rest of her family. Bruce Jenner, who has completely transitioned to a woman and goes by the name of Caitlyn Jenner, is featured on the cover of the June 2015 issue of Vanity Fair.
Inside the magazine, Caitlyn Jenner talked about how difficult it was to announce to her family her true identity and how scared she was for her life after undergoing ten hours or surgery.
Caitlyn Jenner’s four adult children – Cassandra aka Cassey Jenner, Burt Jenner, Brandon Jenner, and Brody Jenner – all sat down for an interview that was featured in the magazine.
Cassandra Jenner, whose mother is Bruce Jenner’s first wife, Chrystie Crownover, said that she did not see much of her father. Cassandra Jenner told the magazine:
“I would happily have traded a distant father for a loving, involved mom.”
One of the reasons why the former athlete may have been so distant from Cassandra Jenner is because her parents were not sure they wanted to bring her to Earth – especially her father. Mr. Jenner confessed few years ago, “My first reaction was that I didn’t want it.”
Chrystie Crownover, who was married to Bruce Jenner from 1972 to 1981, said that after talking to a friend, she realized that she wanted the baby. Crownover said:
“When I found out I was pregnant Bruce raised the issue of an abortion, and I went along with him just as I always did. I had all the tests and had even paid for the operation.”
The mother of two added:
“But one night I was out to dinner and my friend asked me why I wanted an abortion. I told him, “I don’t want the abortion. Why are you having it?” And I said, “Because Bruce wants it.”
Mr. Jenner also made sure that he was miles away in a hotel room in Kansas City, crying on June 10, 1980, the day Cassey Jenner was born. Jenner’s oldest son, Burt Jenner, told VF that his father was not really part of his life and hopes that Caitlyn will fill in the gap. Burt claimed:
“I have high hopes that Caitlyn is a better person than Bruce.”
Burt and Cassandra Jenner were told by their mother when they were 13 and 11 that Bruce Jenner wanted to be a female. Cassandra Jenner, Burt Jenner, Brandon Jenner, and Brody Jenner have all made it clear that they will not appear in Caitlyn’s upcoming docu-series because everything on E! is a circus.
“They disagree with their father’s decision to use not only the same production company that made ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ but many of the same people, including several original executive producers,” the article stated.
Caitlyn Jenner’s series will premiere on Sunday, July 26, at 9 p.m. on E!
