Bruce Jenner’s $500,000 car wreck made it impossible for him to win the Baja 1000. Both Bruce Jenner and his son, were involved in an accident that left their Gladiator Tires/House Beer sponsored $500,000 truck wrecked and unable to finish the race. While none of the men were seriously injured, Burt Jenner was seen wearing a catheter after the crash.
Bruce Jenner‘s $500,000 wrecked car, eliminated him and his son from the Baja 1000. On Thursday, Bruce Jenner and his son, Burt Jenner, who were taking part in the Baja 1000 race, were eliminated.
The infamous off-road racing festival, which has killed many drivers and fans, takes place in Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. Somewhere along the 1,275-mile trek, Bruce Jenner, who was driving, veered into the ditch.
The Jenners had to wait several hours for their crew to make it to the location. When help finally arrived, the father and son duo, learned that it was pointless to pursue the race because they were too far behind.
The race was won by a team composed of Rob MacCachren, Andy McMillin and Jason Voss. Burt Jenner took to Instagram to give more details about the $500,000 car wreck, according to The Inquisitr:
“Well I don’t want to say the race didn’t go as planned, because it did… we had a blast, learned a ton about Baja, made a bunch of new friends who I will remember for life, didn’t bend the truck (even though we went off twice) and we came home safe… in this picture is the group of people who helped us out in the middle of the desert when we broke the truck and offered us pizza and beer and radios… at this point after hours in the desert dad and I were starving, thirsty, and needed a radio to signal our race was over… they pretty much solved all or problems and made life good again. Big thanks to everyone especially @vinnycienta (the girl in the green beenie) for the much needed pizza! Your guys spirit and hospitality is why racers truly love Baja…”
He later shared a picture of himself wearing a catheter, drinking a beer while standing next to his father. Jenner captioned the pic:
“Beat but not broken… Had to have a few beers before I could tell @pottsracing his #trophytruck would not be making it to him… #classyShot #YesThatsACathider”
Gladiator Tires and House Beer spent $500,000 on the car, and another $500,000 for entry fees and equipment. Many are not sure the sponsors got their money’s worth.
