Bodies found off Florida coast create mystery. On Sunday, the U.S. Coast Guard discovered 4 bodies floating off the Florida coast. The bodies were badly decomposed and thus far, health officials have no indication how they landed near the Hollywood coast. The Coast Guard is searching the area for more people.
On Sunday morning, sailors enjoying lovely trips off the Florida coastline made a gruesome discovery – two bodies floating in the ocean.
At around 10 AM, several 911 calls were made to report the bodies. The United States Coast Guard arrived near the South Florida coastline where, they removed the bodies of two males.
The first two bodies were located about 20 nautical miles or east of Hollywood Beach. As crew members of the U.S. Coast Guard continued to search in the area, they discovered two more bodies.
The remains of a female and a third male were found in the midst of trash. A HC-144 aircraft was flown over the Atlantic Ocean looking for more people in distress but found only debris.
The four bodies were taken to the Broward County medical examiner’s office.
According to the authorities, the remains were severally decomposed and it appears that they were in the water for a long time.
None of them were wearing life jackets and they had no form of IDs on them. There is a possibility that the four people could have been migrants from Cuba or Haiti.
But some local media outlets are speculating that the four bodies found were Haitians who were trying to make it to Fort Lauderdale.
It is believed that the four bodies that were discovered were on a boat carrying 23 people from Haiti to Hillsboro Beach in North Broward.
The migrants who made it to shore explained that the smuggler dropped them in the middle of the ocean and told them to swim.
20 made it to the beach where one woman died on the scene.
It is possible that those who made it alive will be able to identify the four bodies found off Florida coast.
