A Beyonce tiger picture is making headlines. A fan snapped a photo of Beyonce feeding a baby tiger in Thailand with daughter, Blue Ivy, and husband, Jay Z, that was shared on social media; it has many animal rights groups blasting the star.
A Beyonce tiger picture is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Over the holidays, pop singer Beyonce, who visited Thailand, was pictured at the Phuket FantaSea theme park.
In the photo, which was taken by a fan, Beyonce can be seen in traditional Thai outfit with a crown on her head.
Blue was also dressed in Thai garment, and just like her mother, she wore a tiny crown. Jay Z stayed more occidental with jeans and T-shirt.
With the help of a Phuket FantaSea worker, Beyonce can be seen caressing, and helping to bottle feed the baby tiger.
Most people find the photo adorable and are gushing over Blue’s cuteness, and how lucky the girl is to be playing with a tiger baby ahead of her third birthday party, (see photo of Blue eating her birthday cake below).
But few animal lovers were disappointed by the fact that Beyonce is promoting animal cruelty.
Dr. Jan Schmidt-Burbach, who heads the World Animal Protection, issued a lengthy statement on the group’s website to explain that animals that are found at zoos and theme parks, are mistreated by workers.
According to Schmidt-Burbach, the baby tiger was most likely removed from its mother, forced to live in a tiny cage, and is malnourished.
The tiger cub is only fed and cleaned when needed for photo opportunities. The expert said:
“The tigers used for these photos are often forcibly removed from their mothers to be fed artificially by tourists. They are also crammed into tiny cages or chained to the floor for long periods. A far cry from their natural lives in the wild.”
A picture of Beyonce riding a baby elephant in the Asian country, has also sparked outrage. Kate Good, for One Green Planet, said that the baby elephant is beaten by a trainer in order to be tamed. Good added:
“It is not unlikely that this poor elephant will spend everyday after this one carrying other tourists, exposed to the extreme heat and weather of Phuket, knowing little but a life of pain and misery.”
PETA has also slammed Beyonce for taking pictures with animals that are being abused. Several people have started a petition demanding that Beyonce, and other tourists stop promoting animal cruelty.
This is not the first time, Beyonce has stirred controversy by playing with wild animals. On January 7, 2013, Beyonce and Jay Z, held a lavish birthday party for Blue, who turned two at a Florida zoo.
Beyonce shared numerous pictures of herself playing with a baby monkey, tiger, and a snake.
