Beau Biden’s wife, Hallie Biden, is mourning along with the rest of America the passing of a great politician, veteran, son, father and husband. Beau Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden and the former Attorney General of Delaware, died on Saturday of brain cancer.
Beau Biden‘s wife, Hallie Biden, is surrounded by a strong and loving family as she prepares to say a final goodbye to a great man. On Saturday, Vice President Joe Biden announced the passing of his son, Beau Biden.
Beau Biden, who was in an accident in 1972, which killed his mother, Neilia Hunter, and younger sister, Naomi Christina Biden, died at the age of 46 after battling brain cancer.
Beau Biden, who served as the Attorney General of Delaware, and was a major in the Delaware Army National Guard, married Hallie Biden née Olivere in 2002. The couple has two children – daughter, Natalie, 10, and 9-year-old son, Hunter.
Vice President Joe Biden released a statement where he said that “Beau Biden was, quite simply, the finest man any of us have ever known.” The grieving father said:
“It is with broken hearts that Hallie, Hunter, Ashley, Jill and I announce the passing of our husband, brother and son, Beau, after he battled brain cancer with the same integrity, courage and strength he demonstrated every day of his life.”
“The entire Biden family is saddened beyond words. We know that Beau’s spirit will live on in all of us—especially through his brave wife, Hallie, and two remarkable children, Natalie and Hunter,” Biden continued.
“Beau‘s life was defined by service to others. As a young lawyer, he worked to establish the rule of law in war-torn Kosovo. A major in the Delaware National Guard, he was an Iraq War veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star. As Delaware’s Attorney General, he fought for the powerless and made it his mission to protect children from abuse.
“More than his professional accomplishments, Beau measured himself as a husband, father, son and brother. His absolute honor made him a role model for our family. Beau embodied my father’s saying that a parent knows success when his child turns out better than he did.
“In the words of the Biden family: Beau Biden was, quite simply, the finest man any of us have ever known,” Mr. Biden concluded the emotional statement.
Hallie Biden, 41, who is an admission counselor at The Tatnall School in Greenville, Delaware, has not yet publicly spoken about the passing of her husband.
However, in the past, she was always present at his political events and praised him when she was quizzed by reporters. Hallie Biden said at a rally few years ago:
“He’ll drop whatever he’s doing to help out a friend or family member. He runs out the door just as he’s about to sit down to dinner if his grandmother calls and needs him. If one of Hunter’s three daughters forgets her lunch, Beau happily drops it off at school.”
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are beyond saddened by the death of Beau Biden and have offered their thoughts and prayers to Hallie Biden and Joe Biden.
