Azealia Banks, the controversial and talented young hip-hop star, poses in Playboy and some say her photos may break the internet when they come out.
Hip-hop music sensation Azealia Banks is set to become a Playboy cover girl later this year. The 23-year-old music star will pose in the April 2015 issue of the legendary magazine. According to the publication, her nude pictorial will break the internet, reality TV star Kim Kardashian broke the web in November with her naked Paper magazine cover.
The Harlem rapper, who released her debut album Broke with Expensive Taste in November, made the big announcement on Instagram on Wednesday. The April issue of Playboy magazine will hit newstands on March 20. Azealia Banks’ Plaboy photos were shot by Austrian fashion photographer and director Ellen Von Unwerth.
The accompanying interview conducted by Rob Tannebaum, will apparently tackle a wide range of issues and nothing will be off the table. Here is what Bank had to say about being on the cover of Playboy’s music issue:
“You guys should all know that the inspiration for my Playboy shoot and my life is CATTY NOIR from monster high.”
Banks did not hesitate when she was offered the gig, she was inspired by famous faces like Grace Jones and Naomi Campbell, who also posed for the men’s magazine. She stated:
“Grace Jones and Naomi Campbell both did Playboy Covers so you know I was like Hell Yeaaaaaa!!!!! (sic)”
March will be a very busy month for the “212” singer. On March 3rd, her album Broke with Expensive Taste will finally have a physical release. March 20, her Plaboy issue will drop. Those moves should create buzz for her appearances at the 2015 Coachella Music Festival on April 10 and 17. The female emcee will also perform at the Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California on April 16.
Most fans are happy and excited about Azealia Banks’ Playboy cover story, but some are hoping that this will not overshadow her musical career. In the past years, Banks has been in the news often for things that were not related to her craft.
