There must have been few awkward moments in the theater, because it seems like the couple went to watch a special screening of Banderas’ latest movie, Autómata, which also features his estranged wife, Melanie Griffith.
Since ending his 19-year marriage to Melanie Griffith, the Spanish-born actor, has been quietly dating Nicole Kimpel, who is a former Dutch model turned investment consultant.
The pair met in Europe over the summer and have been inseparable. The May-December lovers were seen partying in Cannes, France few weeks ago.
During the outing, Banderas and Kimpel, looked casual chic as they held hands and shared a kiss or two. Miss Kimpel sported an all-brown outfit, composed of skinny jeans, leather jacket, fur boots, and matching bag.
Mr Antonio Banderas opted for blue jeans, navy shirt, and khaki jacket. After the movie, the duo was spotted having a romantic dinner at the famous Botafumeiro.
Recently, Banderas spoke about his new girlfriend saying that he is cautious and is taking it slow at the moment. The Spanish star said:
“We are in the process of getting to know each other.She is shy and doesn’t have anything to do with my work, which is no bad thing.”
A close source to Antonio Banderas, spoke to Us Weekly and explained that Kimpel had nothing to do with the divorce.
The reason why Griffith filed for divorce in June is because she had fallen out of love with Banderas many years ago. The person said:
“There was no cheating on either side. They had fallen out of love awhile ago. Their daughter Stella is about to be 18 in September, and they wanted to wait until [the] kids were grown and out of the house before they split up, but knew they would awhile ago. They stayed together for the sake of the kids.”
They only stayed together for the sake of their 17-year-old daughter, Stella.
