Since the death of celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, many have been wondering if his year-long depression managed to get the best of him, or if problems with his estranged wife caused the host of CNN’s Parts Unknown to take his own life.

According to recent information though, there were no illegal substances found in the body of the deceased, nor has it been proven he was under the influence of narcotics of any kind.

The 61-year-old Bourdain’s body was found in his hotel room at the beginning of the month by a close friend and colleague.

A representative for French authorities, prosecutor Christian de Rocquigny du Fayel, stated in front of the media that for now, no tests had come back positive for the presence of drugs in Bourdain’s system at the time of his death.

The remains of the culinary icon were cremated in France and are going to be brought under the custody of Bourdain’s younger brother, Christopher.

The famed chef’s mother, Gladys Bourdain, claimed that all of the travel expert’s most notable belongings will go to his only sibling for the time being.

A representative for the grieving family stated that a small and elegant tribute will be held in honor of the late Bourdain.

The celebrity chef had been notoriously famous in the past for his frequent drug abuse and has been mentioned on multiple occasions for reaching out for cocaine and heroin during filming of the series Parts Unknown.

Bourdain allegedly first started experimenting with drugs at the age of 24 when he was brought to the Lower East Side, and has battled with his addictions ever since.

The boyfriend of Italian actress Indochine was 61 and leaves one daughter behind, Ariane Bourdain, 11, from his marriage with Italian MMA fighter Ottavia Busia.

Argento, who has shared some tributes on social media, recently hit the stage with French band Indochine.
