Ann Curry and Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani sat down for an interview in Tehran this week, where he slammed President Barack Obama’s plan to fight ISIS.
Ann Curry put her new title of NBC News national and international correspondent to work on Wednesday, when she interviewed the President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani.
Hassan Rouhani who is not pleased with Barack Obama’s decision not to deploy combat troops to combat ISIS asked is the American President afraid and wondered how do you fight terrorism from a distance? Rouhani said:
“Are Americans afraid of giving casualties on the ground in Iraq? Are they afraid of their soldiers being killed in the fight they claim is against terrorism?”
The leader of Iran went on to add:
“If they want to use planes and if they want to use unmanned planes so that nobody is injured from the Americans, is it really possible to fight terrorism without any hardship, without any sacrifice? Is it possible to reach a big goal without that? In all regional and international issues, the victorious one is the one who is ready to do sacrifice.”
Ann Curry also asked the President of Iran about the beheading of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, and Briton David Haines by the barbaric hate group. Rouhani replied by saying that ISIS was killing humanity.
“They want to kill humanity.And from the viewpoint of the Islamic tenets and culture, killing an innocent people equals the killing of the whole humanity. And therefore, the killing and beheading of innocent people in fact is a matter of shame for them and it’s the matter of concern and sorrow for all the human and all the mankind.”
Rouhani’s interview with Ann Curry came about one year after she became the first American journalist to sit down with the Iranian leader after he won the election.
The President also talked about his nuclear program, claimed that the the relationship between United States and Iran is strong and believes the two nations will work hand-in-hand to solve many world conflicts.
