Alyssa Milano is leaving ABC’s drama Mistresses after two seasons and 26 episodes. Milano was one of the main stars of the popular summer show and used to play Savannah Davis.
Alyssa Milano is exiting Mistresses because bosses behind the drama series want to take production to Vancouver, Canada to save money. The 41-year-old mother of two prefers to remain in Los Angeles, California with husband, CAA agent David Bugliari and their little family.
The Who’s the Boss? actress made the announcement Tuesday night on Twitter, where she wrote:
Sadly, I won’t be returning to #Mistresses. Here’s why:
Milano then linked to a longer statement on her official website, it read:
“After two wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of Mistresses in Vancouver, Canada, for financial reasons. It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can’t relocate. I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just cannot uproot my children and separate the family by moving away. I will miss this job desperately and wish everyone the absolute best.”
Alyssa Milano gave birth to daughter Elizabella Dylan Bugliari on September 4.
Milano’s departure came on the same day ABC announced that it was going to pick up the sexy drama for a third season. It is not yet clear what will happen to her character. On the season 2 finale of Mistresses, Savannah “Savi” Davis was contemplating going back to her ex-husband Harry Davis (Brett Tucker.) The big problem, Savannah’s half-sister Josslyn “Joss” Carver (Jes Macallan) also has feelings for Harry.
Mistresses cast also includes Rochelle Aytes, Yunjin Kim and Jason George.
Most fans of the show, although sad to see her leave are applauding the move, motherhood and family should always be put first, they believe. Some say, she was the main reason they started watching the show and now that she is gone, they may stop altogether.
