The lawyer representing Erika Murray is hoping to prove that the 3 infants found dead in her vermin-infested home were stillborn. The mother-of-four was arrested on Friday after a neighbor found her 5-month-old baby crying, covered in feces and unsupervised. Her attorney claims she disposed of the dead infants because she feared her boyfriend.
Erika Murray’s lawyer has found reasonable a explanation as to why police found the bodies of three infants in her Massachusetts home.
Keith Halpern who is representing Murray spoke to AP saying that he is hoping that forensic testing will revealed that his client did not harm nor killed the infants.
According to Halpern, the babies were stillborn and his client hid them out of fear not evilness.
Halpern continued to defend Murray by explaining that she feared her longtime boyfriend who did not wish to have more kids.
Mr Halpern claimed that the mother-of-four has been lying to her boyfriend about her two youngest kids.
She delivered the kids at home and never applied for birth certificates. Murray has been telling her boyfriend that she is babysitting the two kids for a family member.
It appears the 31-year-old woman is also suffering from some kind of mental illness. A medical examiner will determine whether the remains were newborns or fetuses in the upcoming weeks.
In August, one of Erika Murray’s sons, Nick went to see a neighbor and asked her “how do you make a baby stop crying?”
The woman who does not wish to reveal her identity went over to the home in Blackstone where she made some shocking discoveries.
She found a 5-month-old baby girl, crying, covered in feces with no adults around. She called the authorities who removed four kids, a 13-year-old girl, a 10-year-old boy, a 3-year-old child, and a 5-month-old girl from the dirty home.
The house was filthy, with piles of dirty diapers lying around, several dead animals were also found in a room.
After interviewing the teenager and the 10-year-old, police went back to the house were they found the bodies of three infants.
Murray was arrested on charges including fetal death concealment, witness intimidation and permitting substantial injury to a child.
The boyfriend has not been arrested – which has angered many people because he was also responsible for the well-being of his kids, so why is society only blaming the mother?
