Jessa Duggar talks church rumor and she is using a powerful weapon to do so. The star of 19 Kids and Counting is fighting back after church gossiping threatened her clean image. Jessa Duggar rumor claims that she had sexual intercourse at the same church, she wed Ben Seewald. A person, who attended the wedding by the name of Mary B., revealed that many people were surprised when they opened the door where the couple was supposed to be sharing their first kiss, it appears Duggar and Seewald were having sex.
Jessa Duggar talks church rumor and fights back in the most Christian way, the young woman is using the bible to answer her critics. Before we get there, let’s start from the beginning. The Jessa Duggar church rumor says her honeymoon started minutes after saying I do to Ben Seewald. On Saturday, over 1000 people gathered at Bentonville, Arkansas to witness the wedding of Ben Seewald and Jessa Duggar, who wore a beautiful blush gown from Tesori Bridal.
Ben and Jessa surprised the attendees including their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, by not having a public first kiss. Pastor Mike Schadt, the officiant at the wedding told the crowd that the new couple was going to a private room in the church to kiss.
According to Mary B., who was at the wedding, Ben Seewald and Jessa Duggar did more than kiss in that small room. Mary B. revealed that Ben and Jessa allegedly consummated their marriage in church, via a comment that was posted on “My Life As A Stay At Home Wife And Mother.” The Christian woman is troubled by what Ben and Jessa did.
She explained that when her daughters, and Jinger Duggar, opened the door to get Jessa Duggar to go take pictures, they were stunned, she shared:
“…I was very upset when I was told about the incident that was witnessed by the girls when the door to the room they were in was accidentally opened. I am not sure why they would not wait for the evening to pray and then consummate God’s marriage. The Lord has blessed them and brought them together.”
Mary said that she is angry that the new couple decided to make love in the house of the Lord, she added:
“To hear so many people discussing what they inadvertently walked into was heartbreaking and troubling. Why did this happen? How could this beautiful, joyous day now be forever tainted and destroyed by rumors about what the girls may (or may not have) seen? And if this is true why would they commit such an act in the Lord’s home…the same Lord who guided them together. This really made me question Ben’s headship and leadership skills. I pray he is not swayed to evil. I pray he acts as strong husband and worship leader to Miss Jessa. I have a terrible, guy feeling.”
She has spoken to her husband about it and he has asked the Lord’s guidance, and should get an answer in about 48 hours, she explained:
“I have tried talking to my husband about this but he has said he will not talk about it until he prays about it and gets an answer from the Lord. This on average takes about 48 hours for him to receive an answer.”
The Jessa Duggar rumor was slammed by fans of the Duggars, forcing the web site where it first surfaced to take action. The owner of the blog, Ashleigh, has deleted Mary’s dirty little comment and has apologized to Duggar and Seewald. Here is what the apology looks like:
Edit: I am removing Mary B.’s comment. I did not before because I do not believe in censoring others. I did not realize that by allowing it to remain on my page that I was perpetuating a rumor and allowing it to escalate to the level that it did.
To the new couple: I am sorry that your personal life has been plastered all over the internet in such a disturbing manner. If I could take it back, I would. It was very crude of Mary B. to post such horrid things on a public forum, and it was wrong of me to allow it to stay up.
Before removing the Jessa Duggar rumor, Ashleigh, shared why she left it in the first place. She stated:
I told about my account of the wedding. What Mary B. and others have said I will not confirm or deny because it is not my business what married couples do. Even if it IS in God’s Holy house. Personally, I feel its not inappropriate as long as no one but the Lord sees you, so please lock the door. Sex was made by God for Man and Wife… so what could possibly be more glorifying to Him than to partake in what the Lord has made for you in His house?
That being said, what Ben and Jessa do as a couple is their business, not mine, not the gossip magazines, not anyones but the Lord’s and their own.
By telling you what I saw at the wedding, I meant no harm. I meant no gossip, and I certainly did not expect the many magazines that have ran with it to find it.
I hope you all have a wonderful life, and instead of trash talking this young couple, you look inside you and seek The Lord.
According to The Inquisitr, all of this drama might be a very good thing for 19 Kids and Counting ratings. Some even thought that the whole thing was a parody to attack Christian fundamentalists, but it seems not.
TLC nor the Duggar parents have commented on the Jessa Duggar rumor.
Update:
Jessa Seewald has indirectly responded to the sex in church scandal Saturday by posting a passage from the bible (Romans 12:17-21) on Instagram. It says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
The Jessa Duggar rumors may not be going away anytime soon, but this young wife is handling the matter with a lot of grace.
Why do people have to try to ruin such a Beautiful thing? I will NEVER believe such a thing has happened. These people have too much respect for themselves, and our Lord.
The private kiss was theirs. Leave it alone. Someone has to make it out to be something two wild animals might do. This is ridiculous.
May God bless this family.
I agree ,that first kiss was theirs ,their first kiss will never appear in magazines or on t v it belongs only to Ben and Jessa
Don’t be stupid people they did NOT have sex in the church
Jessa was a Virgin it would have been messy bloody painful ,the first time takes a long time to complete it takes a gentle loving process IT DID NOT HAPPEN IN THE CHURCH
Who, other than Jessa, knows she was a virgin. Humans are not perfect. It is nobody’s business what happened in the church between Jessa and Ben. If it did happen, they were already married so it is a non issue.
THE CHURCH IS A PLACE OF WORSHIP AND IT IS A PLACE TO GLORIFY GOD AND IT IS A SACRED PLACE. THE CHURCH IS NOT A PLACE TO CONSUMATE A MARRIAGE. IF THIS COUPLE DID CONSUMATE THEIR MARRIAGE IN CHURCH GOD WILL DEAL WITH THEM. ITS BEST TO PRAY FOR THEM AND FORGIVE THEM IF IT DID INDEED HAPPEN.
God is probably more angry over people getting ANGRY over their consummation (legalism). He sees Ben and Jessa’s heart, where they do not. Maybe, just maybe, like the newlyweds in Song of Solomon, as God intended it to be, they couldn’t wait to be with each other. Get a grip. As soon as they were pronounced husband and wife, God gave them that gift of sex. So they consummated their marriage in the Lord’s house? So what? God just declared them married, He gave them that gift, and they enjoyed that gift in His house. I’m sure He is not offended by this, but rather takes joy that they are loving the gift He gave to them. Seriously, read Song of Solomon. God is just as present in your room just as He is in presence at the church. You will find that He takes pleasure in married people enjoying their sex life and you may even find that his letter to married couples in the Song of Solomon He is absolutely fine with consummating the marriage in front of Him! . Meaning in the Lord’s house. Their tradition was as soon as the ceremony is over, they did it as fast as Ben and Jessa? Why? Because if you are in love and waited, you are yearning for each other. Maybe since people knew they went back to private quarters, they should have knocked instead of barging in on the couple who wanted their private time. It was, after all, supposed to be private quarters for the bride and groom, I see it as rude that people didn’t knock before entering that room.
Sex for virgins is not always bloody and painful, and if you’ve been holding off until you get married, you’d likely do it the first chance you got. Sorry to pop your cherry Darlene!
Since you are female you must have had your cherry popped at an extremely young age that you don’t remember what it was like
This is why I don’t go to church. Little old ladies spreading rumors and judging, when they should be on their knees at the alter asking for forgiveness to even have heard and spreading and believed in Rumors. Who ever Mary B. is I will be praying for you because it is clear you really need it.
They were already married. It’s nobody’s business what happened. Honestly though, you think a family of Uber-Christians is going to recognize “sex.” Nope. Guarantee it was a kiss, and probably a passionate one that was mistaken for sex. Even Christ said, “For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.'” (John: 33-34) So it is with religious zealots that they will believe anything they see as wrong. Christ wasn’t a drunkard and evil and neither was John filled with demons. Our eyes lie to us about the things we see all the time–so much the more so when the heart is filled with hatred.
What a sad and hateful thing to say! It did not happen that way! To the person who started that rumor…. F U C K YOU,
Right on honey!
pray for them and pray for yourself. I know you’re upset but cussing doesn’t set a good example. Rise above it.
There is no way that this is the ‘real’ Jessa Seewald. Someone else is posting as her – ignore the comments by this imposter. Jessa has more class than this.
The woman who started this rumor will have to answer to God.
You should not say those curse words. If you are a Christian. Shame on you.
I don’t believe a word of it!
Honestly if she was such a good Christian woman she would not be judging others or participating in gossip….just sayin’
In all likelihood, they have to have to set up an reason for an early pregnancy. The whole program is a joke and will eventually implode as all other such programs.
So what!
That gossipy old hen is just an opininated, nut! Who does she think she is, and furthermore, who is her husband anyway???!!! He always has an answer within 48 hours after praying!!! They sure think they are some special people! Leave the kids alone and get a life!
I would partake in this discussion; however, I invest my time by taking care of my OWN business. Bottom line–who cares. If it is true, they did not jeopardize any one’s health, well being, freedom or happiness.
They were already married. It’s nobody’s business what happened. Honestly though, you think a family of Uber-Christians is going to recognize “sex.” Nope. I like your answer. On top of that, gossip is not good. One should keep this to themselves, and as Jesus says, first confront the person with whom you have a problem, then not having received a satisfactory answer, go with the pastor and believer. But really, if matrimonial sex is holy, and if they were having sex and it wasn’t at the alter but in a room, so? So what?
This is REALLY nobody’s business and it goes beyond the valley of good taste for people to speculate. I’d have to say that its a pretty fair bet that this “Mary” doesn’t know the Duggars nor did she attend the wedding because none of the people that know the family would discuss another couples sex life. It is either a publicity gag dreamed up by the producers at TLC or someone who is out to smear this wholesome,Christian family’s name. I’m sure the couple could control themselves until they got to the honeymoon suite.
Haters, leave them alone. They are a wholesome newly married couple who has every right to engage in sexual acts. Mary B should have knocked before entering the room. Where is her manners?
A church building is nothing particularly sacred. It is “the Lord’s house” in the same sense that everything belongs to the Lord. The Lord indwells His people, and our bodies are to be treated with due discretion, but not brick and mortar buildings. If they did this, they should have locked the door for modesty’s sake, and I’m sure they will agree with me. But to embarrass them publicly was indefensible, and not very credible-sounding. Otherwise, if they did it…Phfftt…Sounds like fun.
I am a Christian . I applaud the Duggar family , for thier Christian values. The girls were both appropriate in their relationships prior to marriage. EVEN if all this hoopla is true..who cares???? They are married. The article says they were excused to a PRIVATE room to kiss, so NO ONES business what happened in there..and Asa far as the Lords house??? He is not offended ..nothing wrong with it if they did..not blasphemous , not hurting anyone..not dirty!! As far as a the “friend” Mary!!!, some friend….horrible example of a Christian woman…gossip is a sin..she needs to take care of her one issues…
This whole story is stupid. The kiss that they wanted so private and for only them. Why did they allow cameras in? why did she post the pics of the kiss. Its just like all the other people, we want to be famous and put our business out BUT only want we want. When people want, expect and take more they get mad because there privacy was violated. cry, Cry, CRY thats what you get.
They didn’t let cameras in. The picture she has since posted is from after the wedding day.
Must be a slow day for news. This is absurd!
Send them congrats n best wishes for a happy, Blessed life together serving the Lord!
Anything positive.
I agree. Shoulda locked the door. Shoulda knocked. Everything and every place belongs to the lord anyway!
I don’t believe it for the simple reason that this guy grew up in a house with how many siblings? There is no way he would have neglected to lock the door if he needed privacy.
This whole story reminds me of a joke I heard several years ago.
A recently married couple asked their pastor if it was OK to have sex before church. His reply: As long as you don’t block the aisle.
Mary B.
You should be more concerned about what The Word of God says about gossip than what takes place between a husband and wife within the confines of Holy Matrimony.
IT IS YOUR CHARACTER AND INTEGRITY THAT IS IN QUESTION HERE.
Proverbs 11:13 (NIV2011)
13 A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.
Proverbs 16:28 (NIV2011)
28 A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.
Proverbs 18:8 (NIV2011)
8 The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost parts.
Proverbs 20:19 (NIV2011)
19 A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.
Proverbs 26:20-21 (NIV2011)
20 Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.
21 As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife.
MARY B, I believe that this is what the Lord is saying to you.
2 Corinthians 12:20 (NIV2011)
20 For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.
I pray that the Lord will give you a clean heart.
Gossiping about an alleged incident does not seem like the “Christian” thing to do. Shame on that “invited guest”.
Mary B. is a horrible, jealous liar. Why would anyone try to ruin this lovely couple.Mary B. if she even truly exists needs help.Though I suspect a idiot writer started this whole crap.
In some cultures this is what they do… Please dont judge anyone. We have all sinned. No matter what we feel. They have a right to do as they think their God is telling them to do… We all love Our God In Our Own Way as they do. Leave it Up To Their God To Deal With….
Mary B. is a bitch. Ms. B. has the cover of anonimity, but what about the lovely young couple who has been scandalized? How dare you! Jessa is very forgiving. You tainted the memories of her wonderful wedding. Again, what a bitch.
Omg. Who cares. Two young people who got married , overcome with passion. Good for them. Love often. God bless you.
